Why The Cybersmile And Claire's Partnership Is So Important

Claire's and Cybersmile partnership Bullying Prevention Month

This special partnership makes Claire’s customers aware of Cybersmile’s work and educates them on the reality of cyberbullying. With many of their customers being young, it’s important that they’re clued up on how to recognize and deal with cyberbullying before they become more active on social media.

With the exciting news of the partnership between Cybersmile and Claire’s recently announced, I wanted to share some thoughts about the partnership for Bullying Prevention Month.

In case you didn’t already know, the campaign runs until October 31st. Its aim is to raise vital funds for Cybersmile whilst, simultaneously, providing support and advice for Claire’s customers dealing with cyberbullying and online harassment.

Claire’s stores across North America, Canada and the U.K. will be fundraising, which shall provide Cybersmile with the funds required for them to continue their work in providing education and open arms to anyone, anywhere feeling unsafe or unhappy online.

With most Claire’s customers being young girls, the partnership between them and Cybersmile is just what the world needs. At a time when young girls are often silenced, ignored and dismissed when they speak out about personal experiences, it’s vital they are reminded that it’s okay to be vulnerable and ask for help. It’s so important that young girls know someone will listen to them if they speak up and it’s vital we encourage them to speak up, despite the oppression and negativity they face daily.

Being a young girl in 2017 isn’t easy – it can be rather horrible at times – which is why the partnership between Claire’s and Cybersmile is so positive. By connecting an anti-cyberbullying charity with a globally recognized brand with over 3000 stores in 47 countries, we’re breaking down barriers and reminding girls that they are not just one dimensional. Girls can be interested in fashion and beauty, they can be stylish and confident but, at the same time, they can also be exposed, emotional and in need of help.

Claire’s is one of the world’s leading fashionable jewellery and accessories retailers for young women, teens, tweens and kids. They have served over 900 million female customers worldwide, making this collaboration even more special. This isn’t just a small brand, this is a massive name in the fashion industry, a name which many young girls see as a go-to for inspiration. So, if a brand which reaches millions of young people is spreading positivity in such a significant way, just imagine the results.

Furthermore, it’s important to note how this partnership is integrating combatting cyberbullying with everyday life. By teaming up with an accessories store like Claire’s, Cybersmile are showing that working to create a safer internet isn’t a mammoth task and it isn’t some scary, unattainable goal. This partnership is evidence that baby steps make a difference and, actually, it’s easier than people think to create a more inclusive web.

Additionally, this special partnership makes Claire’s customers aware of Cybersmile’s work and educates them on the reality of cyberbullying. With many of their customers being young, it’s important that they’re clued up on how to recognize and deal with cyberbullying before they become more active on social media. It also gives them the tools they’ll need to support, advise and educate their friends on the matter.

This partnership sends a message of hope to young women everywhere. It urges them to spread positivity whilst thinking positively about themselves. It urges them to lift their fellow women up instead of tearing them down and reminds them daily, “hey, you can be anything you want to be!”

By working together, Claire’s and Cybersmile are offering support to one of the most misunderstood, targeted demographics. When we build up young girls and allow them to dream big, we are setting steady foundations in place for future generations. Young girls are the future world leaders, we must protect them.
