Community Wellbeing and Education Expert Ivan Davies Appointed to Cybersmile Advisory Panel

We are excited to announce Australia-based community wellbeing and education expert Ivan Davies as a newly appointed member of our panel of international experts.

Ivan is a community wellbeing expert who specializes in building inclusive, diverse and cohesive environments that respond compassionately to people’s needs and strengths. His in-depth knowledge of the neurobiology and psychology that supports educational frameworks has enabled him to develop and implement innovative programs that create and nurture a powerful and cathartic sense of unity and shared responsibility with the communities he works with.

During a 7 year role at Riot Games, Ivan had accountability for one of the largest communities in Australia and New Zealand. In this role, as part of a three year partnership between Cybersmile and Riot Games, Ivan founded and co-authored the League of Legends school program entitled ‘Learn with League,’ an educational initiative and framework to support youth in their digital journeys and, in turn, the caregivers who support them. By 2021, over 300 high schools and multiple community centers in Australia and New Zealand had participated in the initiative. Critically, participants categorized as unsportsmanlike at the initiative’s start showed a sustained improvement in positive and productive behavior post-implementation.

Ivan has also pioneered the design, implementation, and post-implementation analysis of the Assessment for Learning framework to improve student performance. This formative assessment framework provided a more holistic assessment of behavior and performance which was subsequently integrated into the UK Education System, and has been widely adopted worldwide.

Launched in 2017, the Cybersmile Advisory Panel includes a number of world-renowned thought leaders in areas such as research, diversity & inclusion, internet safety, mental health, parenting, gaming, sports and personal wellbeing. The international panel members play a key role in the development and facilitation of our education programs, support services, research projects and awareness campaigns.
