Vine launches child-friendly app version, Vine Kids

With its cult users gaining celebrity status, 6-second looping video app Vine is a firm favourite among teens and young adults. Owned by Twitter, users share their clips, view popular videos and can also ‘revine’ content from other people. But with a lot of risky language floating about and a 17+ age rating… is it suitable for children?

After an unusually productive work chat (possibly standing by a water cooler whilst a lightbulb appears above them, we’re imagining) between Vine employees about their kids’ enjoyment of the app, some bright sparks decided to build a version so age appropriate it could be enjoyed safely, even by toddlers! DuringĀ Hack Week, Vine employees get the opportunity to spend time working on projects outside of their usual duties – and two of them took the chance to create Vine Kids.

Isn’t that great! We’re all about making the online world more inclusive, safe and positive for everyone – happy kids and happy parents! Check out this little lady getting in on the action…
