My experience with cyber abuse

0
Wertigo
For several years I was member of one writing community . Few last week's I get very awful response on my writing. This person call me very bad names and he question my intelligence and his comments were very hateful. When I block him he always create new account . He created actually like about 7 accounts. I reported him to admins but nothing happen. He even accused me my writing is not mine but he never give any proof. I left this community cause it's became too stresful for me. I feel quite devasted.Like I cannot find my inner peace anymore . Any advice please.

Hi Wertigo,

Hey,you have done the right thing. 'Communities' online differ greatly in the way they support users and contributors when issues arise. A badly run site or community is not worth your time and effort, especially if they do not take action when someone is being abusive.

If you need to get in touch with a cybersmile advisor, just email them at [email protected]

Stay strong Wertigo, we are here for you. x

Totally agree with this.

You should join a decent, well-run online community and if they don't take action against abusive people, keep going until you do. Abuse and hate being allowed in a creative space like a writers community is just appalling. You are so much better off without them!

I think finding a community that protects it's users is crucial. Apalling, is the right word. Writing communities should be creative and intelligent environments that keep the trolls away. Such a shame. This is not your fault, move on and don't let sad and unhappy people get in you way.

Thank you very much for reply. In the way is still feel unreal for me is really does happen. I think worst part of this experience is people who claimed they are my friends. They don't try me to defended at any way. And I think that's what hurt most.

Thanks for response. In the fact I am not quite sure if I wanna join to other online writing community . I just feel complete exhausted and done. I think this website can be quiet creative but problem is moderators don't exist they don't care. Yes I feel I make right decision in the way that site is quiet dangerous .

Wise move in my opinion.

When you feel you're ready, you could check out some other existing hubs or forums online without committing to joining, just to see what alternatives are out there, and how other artistic/writing spaces are managed.

No rush though. Take your time, and don't forget, we are here if you need a hand.
