When was the last time anybody had a full 24 hours without access to the internet whatsoever? I can't remember the last time I had no access to a thing online! I think it's scary how much we all rely on the Internet.
I think the internet is so accessible now that we dont even need computers to be on the net, I was camping for 3 days and still had constant internet access... i didn't even have electricity yet could still get on the internet!
I think that adults use the internet for different things and appreciate time away from it more than younger kids who are sort of growing up with it and maybe don't appreciate the time-out break that allows you to enjoy all the real things in your life.
I really enjoy my time away from the internet and make sure I switch off my phone when I am enjoying time out with my family. Its good to stay in touch with everyone but every now and then it is important to give yourself a break. It will still be there when you get back!!
It's different for me and my generation because we know what life is like without the internet (ie the sky doesn't fall on us!) but for youths it must be awful because it's all they've known. They probably feel as though something big is missing from their lives i'd imagine.
I enjoy time without the internet. I can't remember the last time I went 24 hrs, but me and my partner like to go to the hills, watch over our town and just take in what's around us. It's really peaceful and intriguing.
It's lovely to hear somebody managing to enjoy life without the Internet. Amazing that somebody who enjoys time without it still can't remember going 24 hours without it! Really does show how much we not just depend on but actually need the Internet each day.
I plan regular intervals without the internet. Both on a daily basis and I plan Weekends in nature with books, artwork, real people with no internet. I find that being tied to the Internet all the time isn't healthy emotionally, spiritually, or physically; and I MUST take a break to maintain balance in my body and relational spheres.
