I know minecraft is very popular i play it to! But we need to be aware of people over the age of 18. If your older you might get what im saying, Mean people, people you might see out on the streets. STRANGERS. And a survey found out that 7 out of 10 people have been cyber bullied on minecraft so thats why i made this! If your reading this and like awww i want to ask a question but i dont play minecraft ask it! Dont be afraid! If you read a bit about me iv gone through the bad times now im here to help you get out of the dark side and into the good side and have fun!

As an avid gamer myself, I think it's important to remember that although these people may not be "real" to you because they are just a voice or an avatar in a game, what they say and how they behave can have a big impact on how you feel. Most games have a report button, or consoles have a function where you can kick people from your game, or block them, and then report them later. If you feel threatened by anyone I think it's really important that you use these things :) Thanks for posting DolphinTiger.

Hey!

It's really brave of you guys to stand up and talk about this issue!
Cyberbullying through video games is something that some people might not know much about, so thankyou for sharing!

I think the important thing to remember is that you can't control other people's actions, you can only control yours!
People might say nasty things and it might make you feel horrible but instead of using the feelings of anger, sadness or whatever you might feel, to snap back, simply use those feelings in an effective and positive way by reporting them or blocking them immediately! It'll make you feel better and it will extinguish their fire!

Another thing is that, if you feel really effected by the nasty words, it's really important to talk to someone about your specific feelings! Obviously you've reached out on this website about the overall issue but talking to a parent or another trusted adult about your specific feelings is good too! If you don't feel comfortable doing that then an email to Ask Cybersmile is good too!

Another thing is - don't forget that the online world is not the real world! The online world can be fun and playing video games can be cool but sometimes, especially if your experiencing negative behaviour, it's best to just log off for a while.

I hope you guys are feeling OK.

:D

The best thing to do is either leave the game ignore what they're saying or make your own private server.
